課程概述 |
This is an introductory course to the theory and practice of translation. We will cover translation theory, explore how translators learn and work, compare English to Chinese, study Chinese & English rhetoric, explore translation strategies, and most importantly, work on overcoming linguistic and cultural hurdles as we travel back and forth between English and Chinese. |

1. To introduce students to the art and skills of translation.
2. To enhance the bilingual and bicultural competencies of the students. |

課程要求 |
1. Classroom attendance and participation are crucial.
2. There will be required reading and follow-up exercises and projects.
3. All students are required to keep a learning journal. |
